Software Development Project Manager
Primary Objective:
Responsible for managing multiple streams of development work whilst gathering, specifying and logging technical requirements from clients via the Technical Director. The post holder will have responsibility for the planning and delivery of software development, innovations and upgrades to time and within budget along with management responsibility for the Development Team.
Duties:
- Provide technical leadership, management and guidance to the Development Team in conjunction with the Development Team Leader.
- Work closely with the executive team to define product direction ensuring issues and updates are regularly provided to the Technical Director covering all projects.
- Ensure sound development security and quality management practices are maintained within the development team / company.
- Regularly review license documentation to ensure project delays are avoided and to maintain company compliance with relevant bodies, authorities and agencies.
- Provide sound decision making for software development, sensitive to the needs of the business and client.
- Translate technical, executive, and client requirements into specifications for the Development Team.
- Provide hands-on in-depth analysis, review and design of software, including technical review and analysis of source code (including reviews of developed in-house code).
- Working with the Development Team Leader, prepare technical task and time estimates for proposals and bids.
- Maintain accurate and up to date project management records as required by the executive team.
- Provide the executive team with support and regular reports on progress in line with agreed project milestones and plans.
- Continually develop product development processes including coding standards, technical documentation standards, QA processes, build, configuration management and ensure these practices are followed in conjunction with the Technical Director.

Technical Author
Primary Objectives:
Working closely with the Development Team, you will prepare and produce a range of technical documents in line with client expectations.
Duties:
- Assessing the audience and the nature of the documentation required
- Attending planning/briefing meetings with Development Team, Project Managers and executive as required
- Collaborating with developers and managers to clarify technical issues
- Researching and gathering the information required
- Understanding the technology and applications for which documentation is to be prepared
- Gathering and analysing the information needs of the user
- Organising and presenting the information according to the user's needs
- Writing, editing and presenting information;
- Indexing and cataloguing material;
- Copy-editing / writing
- Working on and managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Creating work schedules
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience of working as a technical author
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Experience documenting highly technical products
- Experience writing structured documentation in XML
- Experience working with change control systems
- Experience of working with multi-lingual help files
- Experience working with corporate style guides
- Experience of working with HelpStudio (Desirable)
Test Analyst
Primary Objective:
You will assist with the preparation of test plans and the testing of software to company guidelines and standards. Responsible for all aspects of systems testing on a project or projects.
Duties:
- Assist in the preparation of test plans and test scripts.
- Ensure high quality and accuracy is maintained through to software release.
- Prepare and maintain test plans for use on automated testing tools.
- Preparing a test plan and test scripts to test each software component and demonstrate the business condition under test and the expected results.
- Use Bug Base to record and track bugs
- Providing feedback to the development team, Software Development Project Manager and Technical Director and ensure the work is carried out in accordance with the schedule and the quality requirements.
- To provide estimates and feedback to the Software Development Project Manager for project scheduling purposes.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience and knowledge of appropriate business functionality
- Experience of system testing
- Experience of planning test activities
- Experience of organising test activities for self and others
- Good organisational skills

- Experience of testing Windows Software Applications and Database Applications produced using C++, C#, and SQL Server

- Scripting experience and / or knowledge of a programming language (Desirable)
C# Developer / Programmer
Primary Objective:
Responsible for the development of code, software suitable to client demand in line with company practices.
Duties:
- Maintaining existing applications and developing new windows based applications in C#
- Integrating with large SQL databases to create and store reports
- Producing and updating documentation for projects you are involved with
- Authoring functional and technical specifications
- Testing your own work and that of colleagues as requested
- Working alone or as part of a team as needs dictate
- Maintaining relevant databases
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience of windows application programming using C#
- Development experience using C# and object oriented programming
- Strong GUI skills
- Knowledge of accessibility issues
- Experience with SQL Server and data replication
- Ability to produce reports and also to work with XML
- Experience of creating reports to save in Word, Excel and PDF format, incorporating graphs as necessary
- Qualified to NVQ Level 4 or equivalent or hold of a recognised Computing/programming qualification
